Cole Slaw (Like KFC)

4 1/2 cups grated cabbage

3/4 cup salad dressing

1 Tbsp. sandwich spread

1/4 Tbsp. dill pickle vinegar

1/2 tsp. celery seed

1 tsp. salt (or to taste)

1/4 tsp. black pepper

1/3 cup sugar

4 Tbsp. milk

 

Combine all ingredients except cabbage to make dressing. Add dressing tio cabbage and stir well. Refrigerate and serve cold.

Best made several hours in advance to allow flavors to blend.

Makes 3-4 servings.

Lorie's verson of KFC cole slaw:

I made this for supper tonight to go along with our steaks. I have never made cole slaw and this was a fantastic recipe for the first try. (I grated the cabbage in my mini food processor and it came out perfect for the cole slaw.) It is a little sweet, and so if you dont like sweet cole slaw you can use less sugar. I cut the recipe in half since it is just for me and my husband and it was just perfect. Made just enough, no left overs. Also, I did not have sandwich spread and was not sure what that was, so I used ranch dressing, a lite one, but it turned out good.  I did not have the dill pickle vinegar, I used the regular vinegar, and so it still turns out good even if you don't have what the recipe calls for.
